Programme Structure

newham athletics kids
Athletes are initially grouped into sessions according to which school year they are in:
  • Year 3 to 4
  • Year 5 to 7

Each year we run four 10-week Blocks

Membership is per Block - see costs here

Each Block consists of Training Sessions and 2 Award Sessions

We aim for a coach to athlete ratio of 1 coach to 8 athletes

Each session starts with a group warm-up.

Athletes then rotate around 2 to 4 stations.

Athletes will be exposed to a multi-event, multi-skills programme with running, jumping and throwing activities the central components.
All sessions are led by England Athletics licensed and DBS checked coaches.
Twice during each Block we will challenge the athletes with an Awards programme - such as the Sportshall Awards

Athletes have the opportunity to earn badges and certificates for their achievements.  These will be awarded during the last session of the Block.
